Habitat for Humanity ReStores
Since launching the Cars for Homes national vehicle donation program in 2005, Habitat for Humanity has accepted over 100,000 vehicles for reselling or recycling, raising more than $30 million in the last 5 years alone. The program has raised funds for Habitat Charlotte Region to partner with local families to build safe, stable, and affordable homes. We make it fast and easy to donate a vehicle, and you may qualify for a tax deduction.

We unfortunately do not have the resources to deconstruct or dismantle any items that wish to be donated. We recommend contacting the Deconstruction and Reuse Network for this service. If a Habitat homeowner chooses to sell a home, HCR has a right of first refusal to purchase the home—matching the price the homeowner has been offered on the open market. If we purchase the home, HCR renovates it and sells it to another qualified moderate-income homebuyer. Affordable housing refers to housing options that cost a family no more than 30% of their income.
Instead, our ReStores sell them at low-cost to the public. The ReStores generate a valuable revenue stream that enables Habitat for Humanity of the Greater Los Angeles area to build more decent, affordable housing for hard-working, low-income families. Your donation not only helps support the construction of Habitat homes, it also helps reduce the costs of home-improvement for other homeowners in the LA community.
To donate materials, contact your local Habitat ReStore. Most ReStores will include a variety of new and used building materials, appliances and furniture. Many stores have inventory that expands beyond these three categories.
